Lemon Deodorant

Lemon Juice is a natural antibacterial that has piqued interest in the discussion of deodorants.

Lemons have been known to be associated with cleaning. When faced with a grimey surface, we find people tend to pair bicarbonate soda with its acid counterpart, lemon juice. The lemon activates the bicarb while providing its own antibacterial properties, making it such an effective cleaning agent.

So, how does this help your B.O.?

Our sweat does not smell. But, when bacteria grows in wet areas of our body, that is when we start to stink. Deodorants are used to slow down microbial growth, as well as add some scent to cover up any unpleasantries.

A study done in 2020 compared lemon juice against commercial deodorants. The results show that lemon juice does has a lot of antimicrobial effects, even more so than some deodorant brands.

While lemons do not add any additional scents like a store bought deodorant, they are definitely a way to make you naturally smell fresher.

You can directly apply the lemon juice by simply cutting up a lemon wedge, giving it a little squeeze, and rub!
